Battery & Charger Care

  • Park truck close battery station
  • Open rear window & push steering column forwards
  • Lift bonnet to allow access to battery pack
  • Disconnect power lead from battery to truck
  • Check battery for split auto fill pipes, bare wires or terminals, corrosion, debris. etc. (Report faults)
  • Check battery connectors/cables before putting on charge
  • Connect Charger’s battery cable to truck’s battery.
  • Switch Charger’s electric mains isolator to ‘I’ or ‘on’.
  • Wait for the charger to ‘trip’ in.
  • After charged Switch Charger’s electric mains isolator to ‘O’ or ‘off’.
  • Disconnect Charger’s battery cable, store in a safe place
  • Ensure battery floats are in the up position
  • If not top up using the auto fill system, check for split auto fill pipes before use and DO NOT over fill (if battery bund has water/acid in report to supervisor) PPE to be used goggles & gloves
  • Connect power lead from battery to truck
  • Lower bonnet
  • Close rear window & adjust steering column
